They celebrated shortlisted young people and winners who had taken part in the Girls Active Programme as well as a number of young activists who had been involved with the Youth Sport Trust and Youth Sport Trust International over the past year. They were recognising activists and influencers of change and highlighting the importance of physical activity, physical education and sport for all young people.
The celebration also included an award which was in recognition of the success of the Active Across Ages pilot project of which Hartington C of E Primary School was one of only two primary schools across the country invited to take part. Twelve awards were presented during the celebration event. Six Girls Active Awards and six Youth Sport Trust Awards.

The staff and governing body of the school are immensely proud of the hard work and dedication the children demonstrated during the entirety of the project. They demonstrated their empathy of the Christian Value of Service and how it underpins their character and moral development. This has given them the opportunity to aspire to become the best person they can, whilst providing hope for the community in which they live.
