Teddy Bears’ Picnic

On Thursday 16th June, class 1, travelled to St Thomas’s Church Biggin, to join children from Biggin School, for a story telling session by Archdeacon Carol Coslett from Derby Diocese,  unfortunately she was unable to attend so Julie took the session. The activity was to connect young children and families from around the area after the pandemic and is the start of Messy Church being developed in Biggin Church.

The story was the ‘The Good Shepherd’ and focused on the one sheep he lost instead of the other 99 he had still got!  The children also made pom-pom sheep out of wool and played hide & seek, with their teddies, around the church. Also they enjoyed a drink, cake and biscuits at snack time.

When asked about why he was coming back to school with a sheep Jacob said “We are the sheep and Jesus looks after us like the shepherd looks after his sheep, not like Little Bo Peep who loses them!”
