The official date for Stand up Derbyshire day (#SUD20) was Friday 25th September but the school had already planned their Macmillan virtual afternoon tea party event. Therefore it was decided to hold our #SUD20 day on Tuesday 29th September so the pupils and staff were able to take part in the active tasks throughout the day. This allowed everyone the opportunity to appreciate the importance of how a healthy, active life style impacts on their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The active tasks were integrated within the curriculum and everyone enjoyed the day immensely. We took part in Jumpstart Johnny workouts, active literacy and maths. Their playtimes were focused around the development of key skills through social distancing games including running our Golden Mile and playing Fitness Bingo!
The school catering manager provided a topical healthy lunch to help reinforce the importance of a healthy diet, which was enjoyed within our school bubble.
Fun was had by all; we love being active!
