The new academic year opened with the traditional dressing of the School Well. The children worked on the well in small groups under the supervision of Mrs Janet Oliver and Mrs Fiona Parsons who are members of the local community.
This year we chose the subject of Beresford Dale due to work undertaken in the school over the last two years. This involved the children achieving the John Muir award and the school becoming a Peak District Ambassador school working in unison with the Peak District National Park Rangers.
See if you can spot the Scottish Terrier in the Well design?
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Well we raised a fantastic £88.56
The Village Well depicted ‘Paddington Bear’ which was linked to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, but took on a whole new meaning following her death on Thursday 8th September, which created much media attention for the village and the Wells.
