May Pole Dancing & Ruby Flower Festival 2016

The children took part in the annual event of May Pole Dancing and

the Flower Festival which was celebrating forty years . 

They performed May Pole dances to traditional and modern music in the Village Hall on Saturday 28th May. The dances were choreographed to Katy Perry’s ‘California Gurls’,  Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin on a Prayer’ and Abba’s ‘Mama Mia’.

Traditional  dancers of ‘Taking the Ribbons’, ‘Spider’s Web’ and ‘Barber’s Pole’ were performed along with the ‘Single Plait’ to music by the Proclaimers, ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 miles)’.

IMG_8121The children also created a display, linked to the Flower Festival called ‘Spring leading into Summer’ This included Spring Fact Files, geometrical shaped flowers, Summer Poems and Katie Morag stories. This display will remain in church, for the public to view, until the Autumn term.
