Hartington and Fitzherbert have joined together to bring the
Derbyshire Cricket Board to their schools.
The objectives of the six sessions are to:

Engage more children in high quality cricket coaching and games based learning across the country.

To develop transferable fundamental movements and cricket skills needed to play a range of sports.

Create strong club/school links that provide further opportunity for participation.

Educate children on Health, Social Cohesion and the Spirit of Cricket.
The first three sessions Fitzherbert Key Stage 1 children joined Hartington to experience developing agility, co-ordination, balance, speed and also making new friends. This was followed by an after school club where both schools pupils were invited to attend.

The next three sessions will see Hartington’s key stage 2 pupils travel to Fitzherbert. They will join key stage 2 pupils from Fitzherbert to develop their knowledge and understanding . of the game. Again this will be followed by an After School Club which the KS2 children of Hartington have been invited to.
