Community Lunch

On Tuesday 18th July the school held a community lunch, which was the first time since before the pandemic. It was lovely to welcome the parents and community back into the school, seeing old familiar faces and some new ones. This was also combined with a presentation to Mrs Flower who is retiring from the school after 22 years. Mrs Flower has held many posts throughout her time in school but for the last six years has been the School Business Officer. She will be greatly missed by staff, children, families and governors but we would like to wish her every happiness and success in her new retirement venture.

Mrs Flower was presented with a selection of gifts form the school, community and PTA which was followed by a brief performance of songs and an acrostic poem specially written by the whole school recording their memories of her.

A huge thank you to Katie for cooking a delicious roast dinner for the many guests who attended and who voiced their compliments at the end of the meal to a rapturous round of applause. Thanks also to Val who helped wash up and Liz and parents for helping to organise the hugely successful event.
