On Thursday 24th October Hartington C.of E. Primary school was pleased to welcome a special visitor. This was the Archdeacon of Chesterfield, the Venerable Carol Coslitt, who spent a very enjoyable afternoon singing songs with the children and telling stories too. Needless to say, the children all joined in with their customary enthusiasm and their singing was, as always, lovely.
This was, I felt, a good thing, because a) I know how well the children can sing and how welcoming they can be to visitors and b) Archdeacon Carol had once been a Choir Director and knew a good song when she heard one!
The children did themselves and the school proud, as usual. Thank you children, well done. Sarah Lacey.
