Through our distinctively Christian ethos, we also encourage our pupils to be spiritual.
This can be defined as:
- Religion and worship
- Relationships to other and/or to God
- Evocative or favourite places and experiences
- Creativity and responses to Art and music
- Mystery and what we can’t really understand (asking Big Questions)
- Prayer, silence and meditation
- The opposite of what we can touch and feel (the material world)
- Experiences which take us beyond ourselves
At Hartington C of E Primary School we encourage the children to question what is going around them in world, what they see, what they hear and what they experience.
We will be collecting Big Questions from the children and staff and posing them here on this page. Hopefully we will all learn more about each other and the world around us as we talk and think about the questions we’ve asked!
Here are a few to get you thinking!
“Who am I?”
“Why am I here?”
“Who is more important – you or me?”
“What is more important – the Earth or the Sun?”
“Why is our world a place of wonder?”
“Is Heaven as big as the Earth?”
“Could you walk around the whole world?”
“What does God look like?”
“How would you bring peace to the world?”
“Why should we care about the environment?”
“What is heavier – light or dark?”
“How do you know for certain that you exist?”
