Former pupils, parents, staff and carers are being invited to share their special memories of Hartington C of E Primary School as we prepare to celebrate its 150th anniversary.
The school is commemorating its milestone year in July with several events including a tea party and the creation of a ‘school family tree’ piece of artwork which children are currently working on alongside members of the local community.
We also want to create an exhibition of ‘150 memories’ to mark 150 years of schooling in the village and we are looking to collect people’s memories of Hartington C of E Primary School including tributes, artefacts and photographs.
Vice Chairman of the School Governors, Liz Broomhead MBE said: “If you are a former pupil; a local resident with special links to the school; a previous teacher or staff member; a parent, grandparent or carer; or perhaps someone who has fond memories of working alongside or supporting the school in some way, please get in touch and share your stories with us.
“We hope to bring together 150 different quotes, items, photos and tributes for the school’s notable anniversary and I am sure members of the local and wider community will come out to support our project. If you’d like to share any information, even a small musing about your favourite teacher or school dinner, a particular event that you recall or your best friend during your school years, we’d be thrilled if you got in touch.”
To help shape the ‘150 memories’ exhibition and be a part of Hartington’s celebrations, please contact us or email memories@hartington.derbyshire.sch.uk – we’d be absolutely delighted to hear from you.
