We could not wait to welcome back our pupils for the new 2023/24 year. One of our first tasks this term was taking part in the dressing of the Well in Hartington. A tradition which the School has been fortunate to share with the community for a long time. The well design was created within the School by staff, and decorated beautifully with the help of our pupils and local volunteers. As always, all materials on the well are natural which presented the children the chance to embrace nature and learn about the different flowers we used, the textures and how to dress them into the clay. As well as having the opportunity to learn a part of history in the village.
We then went to visit the Well in the village as a School to see how their hard work looked now it was set in its frame. It looked amazing! We are very proud to be a part of this Derbyshire tradition alongside the village community.
