On Monday 8th November the year 1 and 2 children teamed up with Biggin school to form ‘BiggHarts’ and join other schools to undertake a Football Tournament led by the company ‘Primary Stars’.
Each child had the opportunity to take part in the six 10 minute matches. For many of the children this was a first time playing football against other schools.
Although not many goals were scored all the children were full of enthusiasm on their return to school, and were keen to share the events and their enjoyment of the afternoon.
Report from PE Governor: Liz Bromhead MBE
BIGGHARTS- 12 children from years 1 & 2, having had swimming in the morning, topped up on their calories, with a lovely lunch excitedly climbed aboard Ashbourne Community Transport to arrive at Parwich Cricket ground in the sunshine. After a warm up , whilst waiting for the other children from Parwich, Ilam and Fitzherbert, we were straight into action. The first game versus Fitzherbert 3 was closely contested just loosing 1-2; a year 1 pupil being our goal scorer. The games were played well, they helped and supported each other during their first experience of a team game. The staff were very proud of the children as they never gave up and always remembered to congratulate the opposition and thank the referee.
