Ruby writes: On Wednesday 16th December we went to the pantomime in Buxton to see Aladdin. We got ready to get into Mrs Blackwell, Mrs Flower, Mrs Teeboon and Daniel Blackwell’s car. I was in Dan’s car and on the way we got a scrumptious lollipop.
When we got there we walked down to the opera house which is a big building in the centre of Buxton. We sat down in our seats and the show began. As the curtains opened a mean looking man stepped out who was called Jafar he waved his magic ring and his servant Lalya appeared. Half-way though the show we were given vanilla Ice-cream.
When Aladdin started again, we all settled down and it went quiet in the audience. One part of the show I remember was extremely funny. It was when Aladdin, Wishy- Washy and Widow Twanky asked a teacher from the audience to go up on stage to do a washing job. When they were doing the washing they dipped the clothes in the water bucket then in the soap and finally into the other water bucket then they threw it at the teacher and he got covered in foamy soap!!!
At the end of the show we were taught how to sing ‘I am the music man’ and George from our school went up on stage. He pretended to play an instrument which was a trombone then he was given a goodie-bag to say ‘Thank-you’.
We had a fabulous afternoon and everyone had a great time.
