On Monday 11th October Mrs Broomhead, and Mrs Flower along with three pupils made a visit to the Ashbourne Elim Pentecostal Church Food Bank to deliver lots of lovely produce that had been donated by the community and school children during the Harvest. The school council had requested that any food collected be given to the Ashbourne Food Bank because of previous work undertaken with them. This work involved raising pupil and parent awareness of the important work this organisation is committed to and links directly to the Christian value of ‘Service’, which underpins the vision of the school.
One of the pupil’s quoted ‘I can’t believe how generous the public are’.
Over the past year Ashbourne Foodbank has given out over 100,000 meals to families and individuals in need in the local area. This has only been made possible due to the generosity of local people and businesses.
If you wish to donate food items, there are collection points at Ashbourne Elim Church, Sainsburys and both Co-Ops. If you would like to give financially to the work of the Foodbank, then please email foodbank@ashbourneelim.church.
