The school has hit the ground running with the start of spring term 1. It may not feel much like spring outside but the children have been busy attending sports fixtures at QEGS this month.
On Wednesday 10th January the year 5 pupils attended a Change4Life Champions Conference at The Arc, Matlock. As a result of this the two pupils will be delivering a new active club on Monday, Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes to a small group with support from Mrs Bromhead.
Sports events:
On Monday 15th January the year 5/6 pupils took part in a basketball event. (Click here to read the pupils evaluation of the event) On Wednesday 17th year 3/4 pupils attended a Pentathlon. Friday anabolic station 26th the year 5/6 pupils will represent the school at an Athletics competition. On Monday 29th the Foundation stage and Year 1/2 pupils will attend a gymnastics event followed by a basketball festival for year 4/5 on Monday 5th February.
We are pleased to welcome Rachel Wilkes from Music Partnership into the school again to deliver the music curriculum over the next ten weeks to the whole school. Also Derby County Community Trust are running both a lunch time and after school club along with curriculum Gymnastics and Dance on Tuesdays afternoons. Paul White of Snap Dragon Tai Chi continues to provide a curriculum lesson on a Thursday afternoon followed by an after school session.
Michael Tinker from MAST and Mr & Mrs Briddon from MAST deliver Collective Worship once a term on Mondays and Fridays respectfully. The next Celebration assembly will be on Friday 16th February in school.
