PE and School Sport Premium Funding 2013/14
Funding received – £7000 – This was used in the following ways –

Subscription to School Sport Partnership (SSP) through QEGS and Rural Derbyshire School Sports Partnership (RDSSP) – allowed for the provision of staff training, specialist opportunities for the children such as bikeability and “Five60” healthy lifestyle programme. Leadership and competitions/festivals both team and individual, as part of the competition pathway for Derbyshire schools

  • Curriculum provision – KS1 & KS2 by Derby County Community Trust (DCCT)
  • After School Club – DCCT, Fundamental Sports
  • Equipment to support – Curriculum, After School Club and the preparation for competitions and festivals
  • Stay and Play – Crich Toy Library to provide weekly sessions for pre-school children and their parents/carers to raise awareness of the school – its outstanding qualities and provision encouraging sustainable numbers on the roll going forward
  • Extra support for swimming
  • Music & Movement – to meet the creative/dance aspects of the curriculum
  • Transport to Dove Valley Sports to enable whole school to participate

Outcomes and Impact

Literacy, Learning and Leadership – through monitoring, teacher assessment and child assessments the following outcomes have been realised –

  • Governor observation and assessment of the provider has secured evidence of improved quality of teaching. This has raised the physical literacy standards of the children
  • The children reflect after each lesson on their performance and targets for improvement
  • The ethos of the school is embedded across the whole school curriculum, ensuring that within each lesson teamwork and leadership skills are well established and integrated into everything they do; in the PE lesson, classroom, playtime, lunch time and after school club.

Mon 12th – Lent Afternoon in Church

Mon 26th – Spring Term 2 begins
Tue 27th – Rachel Wilkes from Music Partnership delivering the music curriculum within the school on Tuesdays for 5 weeks. This includes the launch of the Interactive Music Scheme Charanga.

March
Fri 1st – MAST ~ “Jesus Calms the Storm”
Thur 7th – World Book Day – come to school dressed as your favorite book character.        Challenge – please could you take a photo of your child reading in an unusual place (they don’t have to be in their costume doing this), and send it into school?  

Tues 12th – MAST Hannah Wills ~Easter
Wed 13th – Parents Evening – further information will be provided for this. 
Fri 15th – Red Nose day – Dress in your own clothes with one item of red for a £1 donation per child please. 
Thur 21st – Schools Together – 11am at St Giles Church in Hartington with Biggin Primary School.
Mon 25th – Easter Service 09.30am – location in School unless otherwise advised.
Thu 28th – Break for Easter
